Guess who's back ...
Wow, how many people have used that title when returning from weeks/months/years of not posting on a blog or a website? Anyway, how many are referring to the B-Legit song with E-40 offa his newest album? Just me, probably.
Check for more stuff soon, maybe.
If you haven't heard it yet, check out DJ Shadow's Funky Skunk mix. It's the dog's bollocks. I don't know how to get it online, really, and I think the version at Streetlight Records in San Jose is a bootleg, as it usually comes with a fat box set that's something like $150. It's been ripped online for sure though. I'll keep you guy(s) posted.
And I might have to take a late-pass, but there are two videos for Kanye West's song "Heard 'Em Say" that features dude from Maroon 5. As much as I want to hate on it for including Maroon 5, it's a good song. Anyway, there's one video that's animated by Bill Plimpton, some animator guy, and it debuted about a month ago in the UK. It features a black and white sketch animation with Maroon 5 guy and Kanye cut in at parts. Rocafella put it online here. Opens with Windoze Media Player.
A few days ago MTV ran "Making the Video" for the song--but with a different video, one directed by frenchie Michel Gondry (is he French?). The video is OK, there's some visually cool stuff, but he's done better (e.g. most of his White Stripes videos). Anyway, I vote for this one because it's a mini-reunion of people who worked on "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" --Jon Brion and Gondry. Is Jim Carrey gonna trade comedic barbs with David Cross on a skit on the next Kanye album? Make it happen, Mr. West.
Watch the Gondry video here. You're gonna need Quicktime.
